iCollect Books App Reviews

I think the app is great. Im using for my books and my movies that I have. Only issue is there isnt a way to sort it into book order. I have a lot of series that have more than three books to them, especially like Harry Potter. Ive tried messing with the settings and everything to figure out a way to do it and no such luck

I have used several apps for my book collections. This has been the best one so far. It is easy to scan and look up books. I liked to keep track of the books I have read, so I dont buy duplicates. The format allows me to check by authors And titles. I have not tried the export feature yet, but if it works and I can download the information to my of and print it easily, then it will be---by far better than any of the other apps out there. My last phones app was sufficient until I got a new iPhone and lost 4 years of my collection. The cost was minimal for such important data . Highly recommended!

I highly recommend this app. Worth every penny. Fast and accurate. I am a chef and cookbook collector and this app lets me categorize all my books the way that I want. It has a print feature that is a must for book collectors. Good documentation for insurance policies. It took me 6 months to catalog 400 books in Excel and 3 days using this app and the app does all the input. Tech support is the best. Features are too numerous to mention. This is a good app to give as a gift. What an impression to make on someone.

I bought this yesterday and added 156 ISBNs in about 40 minutes. The bulk mode was awesome, it was actually so fast I didnt realize it was done already until I tried scanning the book again and it told me it already existed in my library. This was exactly what I wanted to catalog all my books for quick reference. Smooth and easy. Locked up 1x but I just closed it and re-opened it and never happened again. Used on Iphone 5s

I scanned and manually entered over 250 books and then I noticed some books that I had entered and saved later disappeared from my list. Pretty much worthless app if entered items randomly go missing. This is definitely a pretty serious bug with how it syncs the libraries. I would not purchase this app again.

Needs so work, always wants you upgrade, no place for type of book like book on tape(cd). Stops working and have to go out and back in.

I love this app and have never had any problems with it.

There are those booklovers who at the mention of an author or character in a book, begin reciting all the pertinent information about the book & its author. I wish that I had that gift, that passion that indelibly presses facts to memory. This app provides some of that lost satisfaction. Its amazingly convenient to find and catalog the books that you have read or listen to. My only criticism is I wish that there was a place to leave ones own personal notes. But nevertheless thank you for this app.

I tried (and paid for) two similar apps, but both crashed when the barcode for a book in a series didnt give enough information. This app prompts you to enter the ISDN with a number-only keypad if it cant find the right book based on the scan. Downside: the multi-scan feature is a waste of time. Its too quick on the trigger, and rather than prompt for an ISDN, it simply picks some title and author that have little to do with the book being scanned when single scan mode prompts you for the ISDN.

You can download it for free, but once you scan 10+ books, they want you to pay $5.99 before letting you scan more books into the app!

I really liked this app in the beginning but now I am noticing that the books are coming up with the wrong synopsis and authors. Even the ISBN will show the wrong author. This is frustrating if you sort by author and the book is not shown where it should be. Fix that issue and this app will be great.

This is a decent upgrade to iCollect Books, which at this point has become fairly broken. Price has gone up as well, with no upgrade option from iCollect. (of which I had Books, Movies and Video Games.) At least there is a bundle / Pro option (not a fan of IAP) and being able to see everything via their website is nice, but data entry is still just as fiddly as iCollect. This is fine when their database has things, not so good when youre entering almost everything. $25 to enable desktop links seems excessive. I love the Crop function for covers - makes taking your own pictures very nice! Two things Im not seeing in this version: 1) No entry for book # X in a series (i.e. I can enter Fighting Fantasy, but not book 5 in a separate field. 2) No way to disable the third item in the book list (Author/Series is good enough, though Id take series number in that third slot!)
